TRUMPF presents solution for more efficient abutment printing


DITZINGEN, Germany: At this year’s International Dental Show, high-technology company TRUMPF unveiled a new processing solution that makes the production of customised implant-supported dental prostheses more efficient. The new process focuses on the manufacturing of dental abutments and can be retrofitted to the current series of TRUMPF TruPrint 1000 3D printers.

Back with a bang—Dentistry Show London set to return in 2022 after successful staging


LONDON, UK: The Dentistry Show London aims to present a hybrid expo and educational programme that is suited to the entire treatment team, and it has come “back with a bang!” the organisers said. Thousands of dental professionals visited the event this year, and the organisers have announced that it will return to the UK capital next year on 7 and 8 October.

Job satisfaction: Dentists rate highly in new study


JEONJU, South Korea: Though dentistry is generally a highly paid profession, stressors such as financial pressure and a high level of responsibility can make it a challenging career choice. In a new systematic review and meta-analysis, researchers have sought to measure the level of satisfaction dentists derive from their job. Their findings indicate, among other things, that dental specialists may have greater job satisfaction than general dental practitioners.

Big turnout for CEREC Day 2021


DÜSSELDORF, Germany: On 24 and 25 September, another successful CEREC Day was hosted in Düsseldorf. The event, which has become a prominent symposium for computer-aided dentistry since its inception 21 years ago, was also broadcast online owing to COVID-19 restrictions and featured a women’s day, during which renowned women from the dental industry presented their experiences.

G-CAM: The ideal material for prostheses


COLOGNE, Germany: The research by Spanish company Graphenano Dental on the reinforcement of polymer matrices has made it a pioneer of the use of graphene nanotechnology in dentistry. At the 2021 International Dental Show in Cologne, Graphenano Dental exhibited its products, such as the G-CAM disc for CAD/CAM milling systems, which relies on this technology.
