Numerous professional dental bodies reach consensus on DIY orthodontics

LONDON, UK: Seeking to promote patient safety in dentistry, the British Orthodontic Society (BOS) has recently announced that it has joined a Europe-wide consensus on the remote treatment of malocclusion. The consensus involves 31 professional dental and orthodontic societies, associations and institutions in 25 countries endorsing a joint declaration by the European Federation of Orthodontic Specialists Associations (EFOSA) regarding the remote treatment of malocclusion, which they regard as unacceptable and potentially hazardous.

Registration for 2022 Midwinter Meeting is now open

CHICAGO, U.S.: Like myriad other events, the 156th Midwinter Meeting was a virtual one. However, the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) has recently announced that its 157th Midwinter Meeting will return to an in-person format and that registration for the February meeting is now open. The renowned dental meeting will be held at McCormick Place West in Chicago on Feb. 24ā€“26.

GC symposium addresses the challenges of an ageing population

LEUVEN, Belgium: Earlier this autumn, the Continental European division of the International Association for Dental Research (CED-IADR), together with the associationā€™s Scandinavian division (NOF), welcomed more than 500 participants from 47 countries all over the world at the 2021 hybrid CED-IADR/NOF oral health research congress in Brussels in Belgium. The event, held over two and a half days in September, offered a broad scientific programme consisting of state-of-the-art symposia, keynote lectures and presentations by researchers from Europe and beyond.

Formnext prepared for successful return as in-person event

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany: Formnext is a leading international exhibition for additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing. This year, the event will take place on 16ā€“19 November in Frankfurt and return to its in-person format. According to the organisers, Formnext 2021 will feature more than 600 exhibitors, 55% of which are from abroad, and offer an extensive and diverse supporting programme, including talks by industry experts.
